Education – You will learn about your body during your training sessions, the what and the how and the why of exercises. Trainers have invested considerable time and resources in their craft and are ready to share with you!
Variability – It is hard to try new things on your own. Your trainer will introduce you to appropriate exercises, teach you form and modify or progress exercises to meet your skill and fitness level.
Accountability – Having a scheduled appointment can make all the difference in you showing up at the gym and in actually getting the work done once you get there!
Challenge – It is easy to stick to what we know and forget that challenging ourselves is the way we create change. Your trainer will work to keep things interesting with the introduction of new exercises, new variations and new tools.
Goal Setting – We take the time to listen to you. What has been your experience, what do you need/want now? What do you feel your strengths are? What might be holding you back? What do you want most to accomplish, and how much time do you have to invest? What is your budget and how might we supplement your Training time with classes or doing some work on your own?
An Individualized Plan – The Island Fitness Training Team, in addition to their base certification for Training, is required to complete certification in the Ortho-Kinetics® training program. This in-depth training, in addition to each trainers’ individual specializations gives you the advantage of having a unique plan created for your needs.
Our Team (You have back up!) At Island Fitness we work as a team to serve your goals and best interest. Our Training Team is actually a TEAM. With us you have the option of working with more than one Trainer, not missing a workout when your trainer is on vacation because we have a back-up trainer available who will know your plan.
Promotes healthy lifestyle change – Working with a trainer is not just about exercise, it is about supporting you in making changes to support your health. By surrounding yourself with people who are holding your goals as a priority, you are more likely to move forward.
Recovery from Illness or Injury – Our Trainers work with clients in recovery from illness or injury. We consult with your care team to help prepare you for upcoming surgery or work within your abilities as you transition from Physical Therapy.
