Hey there! So, we are more than 2 weeks into our end-of-the-year push, and I want you to take a minute (or two) and reflect on the past two weeks. How did you do on your goals? What worked? What didn’t? Be honest: there is NO judgment going on here! When it comes to working toward your goals (or setting new goals), which description below can you relate to?
1. Still hiding under the covers waiting until Spring.
2. Like the idea, but get sidetracked easily.
3. Finishing Strong, nothing is standing in my way!
If your answer was 1 or 2, KEEP READING!
If you’re struggling with consistency, motivation, or maybe even getting started, this could be why:
1. Your goals may be unrealistic.
2. You lack planning, intention, or purpose.
3. You forgot that you even had a goal(s)!
4. You’re bored already.
5. You can’t decide or figure out where or how to start.
6. You have an ‘All or Nothing’ attitude.
So, what can help you get past these obstacles?
1. Write down your goals. Something powerful happens when we put pen to paper. Write down your goals!
2. Put those written goals up in places where you will see them, around your house, at work, in car, etc.
3. Share your goals with someone and maybe even ‘check in’ with that person periodically.
4. Re-visit your goals and be willing to adjust them as life happens.
5. Take out your calendar and schedule your goals into your week. Be prepared for them.
6. Celebrate your Victories, no matter how small!
7. Keep your goals limited to 2 or 3. Too many can feel overwhelming.
8. Connect with the ‘why’ or the reason behind your goal(s).
9. Make sure that your goal is realistic. Sharing it with someone else to get feedback can help with this.
